HOWTO: Use a URL.Redirect to create a kbAlertz.com User Account.

Many of our partners have requested the ability to subscribe users to kbAlertz.com from their website. For example, the Microsoft http://www.ASP.net website has an interest in letting users subscribe to the kbAlertz.com ASP.NET notifications. This obviously helps everyone, with the users being able to easily get notifications on ASP.NET.

kbAlertz.com has a few options that makes this process very simple. One of those options is simply generating a URL, and redirect your user to that URL. kbAlertz.com will then create an account for the user, automatically subscribing them to the specific technology. The URL format is pretty straight forward and has the following format.

http://www.kbAlertz.com/PartnerSignup.aspx?PartnerID=XXX&Email=name@domain.com&isHtml=1&Technology=20,213

Please e-mail support@kbAlertz.com with any questions you have with this format, or to request a partnerID.

We would like to thank the fine folks with the following organizations for helping us deliver the kbAlertz.com service. This service is very expensive to run, and has an extremely high traffic volume. This creates technical support issues, bandwidth issues, and presentation issues. The following three companies help make kbAlertz.com possible.
  • myKB.com - Makers of this amazing Knowledge Base application you're looking at. They have a free version available at myKB.com.
  • DiscountASP - The worlds best hosting company. Especially for ASP.NET programmers.
  • ASP.NET Email - We send hundreds of thousands of e-mails a week, and we couldn't do it without this component.
  • Dot Net Charting - All the nice color graphs around the site, couldn't be there without them.

Find a mistake? Let us know about it. Use our new feedback option, to send us an e-mail.

Thanks for using kbAlertz.com
